Why is One You Haringey needed?

Council data shows a 15-year gap in healthy life expectancy between the richest and least well-off parts of the borough of Haringey. The top five risk factors for long-term conditions, poor health and early death in Haringey are:

  1. Poor diet: 3 in 5 adults do not eat a healthy diet
  2. Smoking: Nearly 1 in 5 people smoke
  3. High blood pressure: More than 1 in 5 adults have high blood pressure
  4. Physical inactivity and unhealthy weight: Nearly 2 in 3 adults are overweight or obese
  5. Excess alcohol: 1 in 5 people drink too much

One You Haringey provides support for residents to bring about improvements in all these areas.
